13 Dec – Hong Kong TVB actress and beauty pageant Sonija Kwok and mainland action choreographer, Zhu Shaojie, have only just been married in Guam in October this year, but rumours about her pregnancy have already been spreading like wildfire, which was quelled by Kwok herself in a nonchalant remark recently, according to JayneStars.

According to reports, a reporter called 37-year-old Kwok yesterday to confirm the news, to which she replied via text that she did not wish to reveal too much information at this stage, thereby confirming the rumours.

However, the Canto-British Kwok has yet to pass her first trimester, dispelling the wilder rumours that she was already 4 months pregnant.

It was obvious that Kwok's best friends were aware of her condition as TVB executive, Virginia Lok replied, "I will privately congratulate her when she passed her first trimester!"

Following that, Michael Miu, who is currently filming a promotional clip for a new series said that he had noticed a slight bulge in Kwok's belly.

"I teased her about her belly protrusion, upon which she declared that she was pregnant!

Actress Vidya Balan, who will be seen in an alluring and sensuous avatar as Silk Smitha in The Dirty Picture, says she does not fear being tagged as a "porn star".

Vidya will be playing the character of the southern sex symbol Vijaylakshmi, better known as Silk Smitha, in Milan Luthria's film.

Vijaylakshmi, a small town girl, with her dance numbers and bold performances reached the ultimate symbol of sensuality in Southern cinema. Film critics have often referred to her as a "soft porn" actress.

However Vidya said, "I think I am an actor playing a character Silk Smitha. I don't think there is a possibility of that tag being attached to me. I just hope it adds another shade to me as an actor."

The film, chronicling the journey of the yesteryear seductress and her early demise, is slated to release on Smitha's birthday, December 2.

Kalki Koechelin says it was disconcerting to share the screen space with veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah in her latest release `That Girl In Yellow Boots`.

The 28-year-old, who also wrote the script of the movie, releasing today, says she felt distorted due to the presence of the actor.

"The world knows that Naseer is a fantastic actor. Since I was working with him for the first time, I was very nervous shooting with him. I never realised that I could be so distorted due to the presence of another actor in the same frame," said Kalki, who recently tied the knot with her director beau Anurag Kashyap.

For someone who has done unconventional films like `Dev D`, `Emotional Atyachaar`, `Shaitan` and `Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara`, Kalki`s latest outing `That Girl In Yellow Beats` stands out as yet another serious project.

The film narrates the journey and nightmares of a girl who comes from London to Mumbai in search of her missing father, who left her when she was only five-year-old.

"I started working on this one immediately after `Dev D`. This is hardly conventional cinema. Instead of being a fairy tale journey of a young woman, it is about the nightmares that she goes through," says Kalki.

The film, which has already gained critical acclaim in international festival circuits, carries a very unique title and Kalki says it comes from an interesting incident.

"Anurag and I were travelling in London and discussing the look of this girl`s character. We wanted her to look like this grungy woman who feels like a complete outsider when she steps into Mumbai," Kalki said.

"Then we just happened to walk past a shoe shop and saw these huge yellow boots on display. They just didn`t look like the ones that an average woman would wear, especially in India, and we decided there and then that not just our character would wear these shoes but our film will also get a title out of that," she added.

The movie releases two days after Salman Khan starrer `Bodyguard` but Kalki feels that her small film faces no competition from the big budget movie.
